Another day has come and gone.
Among other things, I managed to get out for a long run in the morning. Listened to "This American Life" on my iPod, lost track of time...and ended up running for over an hour. Holla back now!
Between "This American Life" and "The Moth," it's becoming abundantly clear I'm in the middle of an obsession. Can't seem to get enough of hearing other people's stories. Must have more. Instead of "driveway moments," I'm having "never-ending runs."
(Ohmygod. Never-ending runs! Unintended, yet hilarious POOP JOKE! Love it!)
Spent the rest of the day running errands. (I did not literally run while I went about my errands...I skipped.) Felt tired, but good--the kind of tired you feel after a particularly hard work-out. My spirits were high throughout the day...high enough that when I called Mr. Lush at work in the afternoon, the first thing he said (a little resentfully, I might add) was, "Well, SOMEONE seems to be in a good mood." It was a bit out of the ordinary for me, since most of my calls to Mr. Lush entail lots of sighing and feigned despair. Today it was his turn.
Tonight, right now, we're sitting by the fireplace reading and relaxing. No school for the kiddies tomorrow--or work for Mr. Lush. We'll be going for a run in the morning and I'll be planting my tulip and daffodil bulbs in the afternoon...finally. I'm kinda sorta dreading it, actually. So much digging...and mud...and back strain.
All for now. Must get back to the fire...where Tex is currently roasting like a small, furry hot dog.
Hope you're having a good day wherever you are.

You're not reading. You liar.

"Ended up running for over an hour." Qu'est-ce que c'est? No comprendo. Does.Not.Compute. It's like yesterday, when I received an email COMPLETELY IN DUTCH, because the kind woman who sold me an exquisite Advent calendar and some fairy tale postcards forgot that I was a more-or-less English-speaking customer. Fortunately there's Google Translate, although I'd already noticed that "verzonden" sounds kind of like "sent," so it was okay.
Enough about your crazy talk. Let's discuss your photos. And how creeped out I am that the trees in the first one look REAL. I mean, I know they're real, but it appears I could reach out and touch them. And Tex, slithering. Do you have some kind of new creepy-effects lens??

I LOVE the slithering Tex picture! Seems as if he might be winking at you just a bit.
I saw Ira Glass do a presentation a couple of years ago - he was talking about how they put the show together and driveway moments. It was just him and a little mixing-board electronic-type gizmo on the stage. It was a fantastic presentation - like a 1 hour and 30 minute driveway moment.

Yes, when I saw Tex in that pic I forgot about your never ending run.

I've had several cases of the never-ending runs myself.

Great poop joke. I ought to start listening to more podcasts when I run. I have a friend who does this and she swears by it. And This American Life is one of my favorite programs...

I am so exhausted by all these tales of running.
And I am only reading about them!

Ack- this was funny!
I wish you would run over here and help me organize my sewing room like you did for your mama. Such a nice job you did, too!
Smooch your pooch for me. He has such a sweet face.

Hey, I just noticed that your comment process is a Texas two-step! I have been commenting for awhile and don't know that I knew this -

Hi there! I heart your blog! I would love to live somewhere..anywhere...else and see what life is like outside the US. I now live vicariously through several US bloggers living elsewhere....sigh......someday maybe it'll be my turn! :)
Hope you all don't mind if I join you??
